Life Bridge Community Chaplaincy began in the Brisbane Bayside in 2018 with a simple but powerful goal — to have caring, trained volunteer chaplains available in everyday community spaces. Our chaplains are there to listen, to support, and to remind people they’re not alone. Our purpose is summed up in three words:

We’re a team of caring, trained volunteer chaplains from different church backgrounds, united by a heart to be there for people. You’ll find us in shopping centres offering a listening ear, encouragement, and hope.

Our chaplains aren’t counsellors, but they are genuine, caring people who are there to connect, support, and gently guide. Whether someone needs someone to talk to, a helping hand, or a signpost to local support services, we’re here. We’re also ready to walk with anyone who wants to explore deeper spiritual questions or reconnect with church and faith.

I come every Thursday to have a chat because I live by myself and I get lonely. I think it’s absolutely fantastic.

LBCC is a new, innovative expression of community care — approachable, grounded, and motivated by compassion. Our vision is to build bridges that connect people with the care, faith, and community they need.

I walked by several times and finally decided to talk to a Chaplain about my personal life threatening challenge. He was sensitive and supported me in getting professional help. My life has been completely turned around, I doubt I would be alive today if it wasn’t for Life Bridge and Chappy Graham.
